Addressable RGB LED Strip

An addressable RGB LED strip is an LED strip where each LED or pixel can be individually controlled by a controller. Custom color patterns and effects can be achieved by independently programming the color and brightness of each LED or pixel.

Unlike traditional non-addressable RGB LED strips, which can only change the color of the entire strip at a time (the entire strip turns red, green or blue); however, “addressable” means that each LED or each pixel can be individually “addressed” to control its settings (each LED or each Pixel can be individually changed to green, red or blue). For example, as shown in the figure below.

Addressable RGB LED Strip Features:

Individual Control–Each LED or pixel has a built-in integrated circuit (IC) that can be individually adjusted in color and brightness by “writing addresses”.

Complex Patterns–Controlling a programmed addressable RGB LED strip through a controller can achieve dynamic lighting effects such as color waves, chasing lights, and even displaying custom animations.

Controller required–To control addressable LED strips, a compatible controller is required to send commands to each individual LED or pixel, which needs to be pre-addressed to achieve the desired lighting effect.
