In underground tunnel construction, ground conditions, limited visibility and geological factors make tunneling a tough job. A good lighting system can ensure the safety of the workers and also help relax the workers.
In this underground tunnel located in Australia, the design opted to forego traditional lighting equipment in favor of neon flex 360° LED lights.
Compared to traditional point light sources, neon LED lights have many advantages that the former does not possess.
Firstly, neon LED lights provide continuity, which ensures that the illumination in every meter of the tunnel is consistent, avoiding areas of insufficient light that can occur between two point light sources, thereby enhancing worker safety. Secondly, neon LED lights are not as glaring as point light sources; their continuity allows for the use of softer lighting that illuminates the entire area without causing discomfort.
Additionally, some neon LED lights support dimming, which allows the lighting to adapt to the varying needs of the workers at different times.
