What is High Efficiency LED Strip?

The definition of high-efficiency light strips is to make full use of the parameters of the lamp beads (such as voltage/current/luminous flux, etc.) to minimize the loss of product voltage.

This requires the use of larger chips (such as dual crystal 2235 and other sizes), high-brightness LEDs, high-quality resistive impedance and thicker copper foil (such as 3OZ or 4OZ) to reduce the voltage drop to ensure sufficient voltage to drive LED light strip products.

High Efficiency LED Strip Advantages

When the power supply voltage is 24V, the design of high-efficiency LED strips is usually a group of 8 LEDs or a group of 9 LEDs.

The greater the number of LED strips (provided the VF value of the lamp beads allows), the smaller the loss (≤2%) of the entire circuit production will be, and the more luminous flux will be obtained.

Compared with the traditional light strip design (usually 6 LEDs per group or 7 LEDs per group), the utilization rate of the entire product is higher.

The VF value of the lamp beads is required to be high. Double-crystal large-size chips must be used.

In view of the design of 8 LEDs/unit or 9 LEDs/unit, the lamp bead utilization rate is very high, the loss is very small, and the loss is <2%.

Considering voltage drop, it is recommended that each roll should not exceed 3 meters (power supply at both ends).

The power per meter should not exceed 10W.

How to understand this loss <2%?

Answer: This loss <2% refers to a voltage value lost on the resistor.
For example: the product power is 9.6W/m, the total current value is 9.6/24=0.4A, There are 20 groups per meter, and the current value of each group is 0.4/20=0.02A. The VF value of LED lamp beads is 2.63 when the current is 0.02A. The product is designed as a set of 9 LEDs, and the power supply voltage is DC24V.
The voltage loss value is 24-9*2.63=0.33V, Loss ratio: 0.33/24=0.01375=1.375%<2%
