What is WS2815 LED Strip?
WS2815 LED strip is a colorful addressable LED strip with DC12V power supply voltage, built-in WS2815 IC single point single control, and breakpoint resume.
Common specifications include 30 LEDs/meter, 60 LEDs/meter, 66 LEDs/meter, 84 LEDs/meter, 96 LEDs/meter, 120 LEDs/meter, 144 LEDs/meter, etc.
WS2815 LED strip is almost the same as WS2813 LED strip, which is an upgraded version of WS2813. The main difference is that the 12V WS2815 LED strip has a smaller voltage drop than the 5V WS2813 LED strip, which supports longer distances without reducing brightness.

WS2815 LED Strip Break Continue Function
Breakpoint resume in LED strip application means: that when the strip is powered on after a point in the output signal transmission process is interrupted (i.e. IC or this group of lamp beads fails), another spare signal line can bypass the fault point and transmit the signal to the next pixel point, so as not to affect the continued operation of other strips on the same line.

WS2815 LED Strip Advantage
1. All electronic components of the WS2815 LED strip are integrated into a 5050 lamp bead, and no other peripheral electronic components are required to assist, forming a complete externally controlled pixel point. At the same time, the WS2815 light strip reduces the defects caused by inverted drag soldering during product installation.
2. The WS2815 LED strip adopts a serial cascade interface and dual signal line transmission. The WS2815 realizes the function of breakpoint continuation. In the case of damage to a single pixel, it will not cause the normal lighting of the pixel below it, and the overall effect of the LED full-color light strip will not be affected.
3. The WS2815 LED strip has intelligent reverse connection protection. If the product is installed and connected to a 12V power supply, the lamp bead will not be damaged if it is connected.
4. The WS2815 LED strip has a built-in signal shaping circuit. After any pixel receives the signal, it is waveform-shaped and then output to ensure that the line waveform distortion will not accumulate.
6. When the transmission distance between any two points of the WS2815 LED strip does not exceed 5 meters, there is no need to add any signal amplification circuit.
7. When the refresh rate is 30 frames/second, the number of cascades is not less than 1024 points.

WS2815 LED Strip Connector
WS2815 LED strip uses 4 pin connector because it has 4 wires: Positive + Negative + Data Wire + Backup Data Wire.
WS2815 LED strip is an upgraded version of WS2813 LED strip, which supports longer distance operation than WS2813. If the operating distance exceeds 5 meters, it needs to be recharged.
Please pay special attention to the correct voltage and data transmission direction, otherwise the light strip will burn out.

WS2815 LED Strip Distribution Wiring Diagram
To illuminate the WS2815 LED strip, you need to prepare at least a 12V power supply, an LED controller (K1000C, K8000C, or SP pixel series controller), and the WS2815LED strip. It is worth noting that, first, the working voltage is 12V, which is very important, otherwise it will not turn on or burn out the light strip; second, use a 4-pin LED connector. You can refer to the simple connection diagram below for the connection.
WS2815 Vs. WS2813 Key Difference: Voltage Drop
WS2815 LED strip is almost the same as WS2813. But the operating voltage is different: 12V for the WS2815 LED strip (of course, we also provide 24V WS2815 LED strip), and 5V for the WS2813 LED strip. Therefore, the WS2815 LED strip can run a longer distance than the WS2813.
The voltage drop of the WS2815 LED strip is much lower than that of WS2813. WS2813 LED strip needs to be recharged every 2 meters, while WS2815 LED strip needs to be recharged every 5 meters. Otherwise, the brightness will be dimmed at the far end of the light strip.

Q1: What do I do if WS2815 lamp beads do not illuminate or flash at all?
A: It might be due to inadequate wiring or malfunctioning light strips; therefore, you can try ensuring the wiring is firmly secured or replacing the faulty light strips.
Q2: What do I do if I can’t control the WS2815 LED strip synchronously in colors?
A:The issue could be incorrect controller settings or excessive signal transmission distance. Try resetting the controller or installing a signal amplifier to boost transmission strength.
Q3: What do I do if WS2815 LED strip brightness is not adequate?
A: Luminescence attenuation may stem from an inefficient power supply or excessive use of light strips. You can replace it with a higher-capacity power supply or change out the light strips.
Q4: What can I do if the WS2815 LED strip color becomes unstable?
A: The output signal of the controller may be unstable, or the defective light strip could be the cause. See if the output signal of the controller is okay, or swap out the defective light strip.
